Fundraiser for Victor Reyes
Donation protected
Hey all,
My name is Dylan Gafner, and I'm seeking assistance in helping our friend Victor recover from a severe medical emergency on Tuesday, May 24.
Around 6:00 PM, Victor experienced a hemorrhagic stroke, leading to emergency transport to Harbor View Hospital in Seattle. Paramedics arrived swiftly and acted fast to get him into the ER. So far, Victor was intubated to ease his breathing, received minimal-invasive surgery to remove blood clots, and is now awake and able to form small sentences, and is undergoing tests to regain mobility on his left side. We are so thankful that he could receive medical attention quickly, but he has a long road ahead.
Since I met Victor in 2006, he's been one of the kindest people I've known. In many ways, he's the embodiment of southern hospitality, bringing the best aspects of Texas to the Pacific Northwest. At the drop of a dime, Victor has always made time to be there for his friends and family. He brings smiles and laughter to every conversation he engages in. From a work perspective, he goes as hard as he can in everything he does (sometimes a little too hard...) - but we love him for it. Some of his first words post-surgery were "Mischief" and "Han", the names of his two cats. Of course, his first worries weren't about himself, but his little buddies back home and those around him.
To repay some of that hospitality, I'm getting this GoFundMe together to help him and his family out with medical costs and post-emergency care. The road to recovery will be long, but we're all doing what we can to make things a bit easier for him and his loved ones.
Our goal is to help Victor and his family during this difficult time in the following ways:
- Medical expenses relating to Transport, Medications, ICU, Rehabilitation, and more.
- Travel expenses for his family.
We ask that this be shared among family, friends, and coworkers. Every bit helps, whether it be a dollar or a hundred.
Thank you, and we'll look to provide updates on his status when we can.
