Fundraiser for Wayuu community of Guajira 2024
Donation protected
Our names are Manuel Fresneda and Curt Weihz, the owners of Isasuma. Our organization is launching our seventh annual fundraising event to get life-sustaining supplies to the indigenous Wayuu community of the Guajira Peninsula. Our goal is to reach $10,000 in donations for this year.
The Wayuu people are dying of thirst and hunger in the desert of La Guajira due to the inability to access safe and sufficient water for drinking and irrigation. Thousands of children have died over the last decade due to malnutrition and a lack of access to basic medical help. Our mission is to, little by little, alleviate the suffering and instability felt by the women, children, and men of the indigenous Wayuu community. We seek to do this by providing clean accessible water and giving the means of regulating and restoring the local economy and self-determination to the Wayuu
