Fundraiser in honour of Brent Nelson
Donation protected
As many of you know Brent Nelson passed away unexpectedly and tragically on January 19th due to complications from routine Gallbladder surgery. Brent was a Husband, Father, Dog Dad, Grandpa (Grampy), Father in Law, friend and co-worker. He was loved by so many and is missed by all.
He was passionate about many things but two that stand out the most were his passion for trains and love for his dogs!
Brent not only had a love for his own (spoiled!) dogs, but he also sponsored dogs through the BC and Alberta Guide Dog Organization. His last dog he was sponsoring was named Parker. When Brent passed away he left a donation to the organization. Connie went to deliver it personally and when they found out Brent had passed away they said they would be naming one of their puppies after him. A puppy named Brent — how he would have loved that!!
I’ve created this fundraiser to support his passion as his Celebration of Life approaches us on July 15th. We would love to collect donations —in honour of Brent— to give to this amazing organization that provides Guide Dogs to children who have autism, blind/visually impaired children, First Responders, or Veterans with Operational Stress or PTSD. It can take up to two years and the cost of $35,000 to train a dog and they are provided for free to the individual that will be receiving them.
We thank you in advance if you’re able to donate. If not, please send your love and prayers to our family. Losing Brent, who was such an important part of our family, has left a devastating hole. We miss him immensely.
