Fundraiser To Preserve Ephraim Amu Musical Scores
With the prided position that Ephraim Amu (1899-1995) commands in the history of his native Ghana as the father of African art music in the region and the musical voice of the nation’s independence, the fact that there is no volume of his collected works a full thirty years after his death is irreconcilable.
There is a critical need to preserve his musical score, which is incredibly important for scholars, educators, composers, and performers of African concert music, as well as for the Ghanaian cultural identity and future generations. Consider making a donation to support this important work; your donation will go towards the Ephriam Amu Score Project, which has been going on for the last eight years. Your tax-deductible donation will go towards fishing the first two volumes that are currently in the works. Your donation will be acknowledged on the project website. Thank you in advance for your donation.
