Fundraiser To Help A Trusted Member Of The AUK Community

A much loved member of our community needs our help. We all know that getting to auk events can be of huge importance to our members. Being able to physically see our kith and kin, to take part in rituals, to learn more about our spirituality and our history and ancestors are just a handful of things we gain from getting to moots. In turn, being able to actively take part can give a massive boost to mental and physical health, and who doesn't need that right now?

A big obstacle that people have to overcome is travel. When you don't have a car this can make getting to events very difficult but we can usually rally around. However, when your day to day life depends on having your own transport, this can have a massive impact on all aspects of living. From work life to family life to heathen life.

As already mentioned, someone in our community needs support. They are a long standing member of AUK who has been an integral member from the very early days. They have had the most difficult few years but they have always made sure they could get to the big summer event - The Great Heathen Gathering. Usually we would suggest the community coming together to offer lifts but this is a quite unique situation where it isn't just them, they also have a wheelchair using family member who also loves coming to our events and cannot use public transport in day to day life.

They have just lost the use of their van and so this is where we need your help. AUK have supported previous Crowdfunding campaigns and this is one we wholeheartedly support.

Our member needs a new vehicle, preferably an estate so it can fit a wheelchair in the boot plus camping gear, that can help with work life, family life and Heathen life. Let's get them back on the road and support them as much as we can!
