Fundraiser to repair the Hillcrest Sign

Our Sign Needs Help

The Hillcrest Sign is the heart of our neighborhood, but recently it has needed more than just a little repair, and we need your help. Powered by environmentally friendly LED neon, it has been glowing brightly on University Ave. for the last ten years. Recently the components within the sign have begun to fail, and while the Hillcrest Business Association continues to repair the sign, shipping delays have meant that the sign is constantly in need of repair. It's time for an overhaul!

An exciting color-changing upgrade

The Hillcrest Community Foundation, in conjunction with the HBA and several generous business owners, have begun the process of replacing the lighted elements within the sign. The plan is to install new LED components that will glow white most of the time but, for special occasions, can change colors to celebrate community events. The sign could be rainbow colors for Pride, pink for breast cancer awareness month, or red and green for the holidays.

Rewards

The Community Foundation and the HBA will be recognizing those who donate to the sign repair by adding recognition panels to the legs of the sign. You'll be recognized on our wonderful sign for decades to come.

Ways you can help

Many people have asked to donate and help with the repair of the sign. There are several ways you can help. First, donating to help us repair the sign is really important. We need to complete our fundraising for the project by raising $15,000. We can't get there without you! Your donation to the Hillcrest Community Foundation is tax deductible. After making a donation, you'll receive a recognition letter that can be used for tax purposes.

Second, let your friends and neighbors know about this fundraising campaign! Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing interesting information about the campaign and you should share it with your network.

Third, if you're interested in making a larger donation to the repair of the sign, we are accepting Platanum ($10,000), Silver ($5,000), and Gold ($2,5000) level donations.
