Fundraising Appeal for Mark and Ginger Nuss

In October 2021, the Nuss family and the entire Snohomish community were rocked by devastating news. Mark "Chewy" Nuss, co-owner of the iconic Fred's Rivertown Alehouse, suffered a major stroke. In an instant, this unthinkable health crisis threatened to strip away not just the future of a beloved local business, but the well-being of one of our town's most cherished families.

For over 15 years, Mark and his wife Ginger have poured their hearts and souls into making Fred's a warm, inviting gathering place and cornerstone of the historic downtown district. Fred's is a celebration of the unique spirit and pride that defines Snohomish.

Mark and Ginger's ties to the community run incredibly deep, with Mark serving as an officer and committee chair for the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce and Historic Downtown Snohomish Association over the years. They have also given generously through charitable contributions and sponsorships from Snohomish Kla Ha Ya Days to The Taste of Snohomish Blues events, the Nusses and the Fred's crew have always been there to offer "sweat equity" and financial support to the community.

We have all enjoyed The scratch-made Pacific Northwest fare to the lively ambiance to their unwavering support for local sports teams and philanthropic causes, the Nusses have given our community a priceless gift through their infectious hospitality and commitment to civic leadership.

Now, our dear friends are the ones who desperately need our help and support. With Ginger acting as the primary caregiver for Mark since his fall, the mounting medical bills and costs of home care have created an difficult financial burden during this most difficult time .

That's why I'm issuing an appeal to our Snohomish community and all who have been touched by the Nusses' kindness and generosity over the decades.

I need your help to raise $25,000 to provide relief for these horrific expenses and show this beautiful family that we are here for them, just as they've always been there for us.
