Breaking the Chains of Child Labor in India

A young child in Iyyampalayam has been working on a site instead of studying in a school. She has been working since the age of 5-6. Years have passed and she is still working. The interns at SHAPE NGO want to change that and ask your favour.

What comes to your mind every time you drink coffee or wear makeup? What should come to your mind is how these products might be a result of child labour. Do you ever wish to be a part of the solution to this problem faced in India?

We Interns at the NGO SHAPE have been researching and working towards this. Everyone employed in this NGO believes in making a change for this cause.

The money you donate will go to SHAPE organisation and SHAPE (Society for Harmony, Aid and Prosperous Economy), Tiruvannamalai – India.

SHAPE is a non-profit dedicated to serving and addressing the problems of the urban, rural and tribal communities of india. SHAPE was founded in 1987 and has been working continuously and enthusiastically for community development and progress. Studies have shown that millions of children are out of school and are child labourers often in hazardous circumstances. According to UNICEF india has the highest number of child labourers under 14 in the world. SHAPE hopes to play its part in eliminating the menace of child labour and we need your help to do that.

SHAPE creates opportunities to transform the community’s environment, health education, and economies thereby ending inequalities, hunger and poverty.

What these kids have been going through for years is awful. However, we have had the opportunity to help them in a small way. We understand thousands of little children are going through the same, possibly worse. We wish to raise 400 dollars for the betterment of the children. Please donate the money you wish to give, even a small amount makes a difference in a child’s life.

Hence, all the funding will be used for research and to create an education platform to support and empower Indian families and children suffering from child labour by bringing together all of us to beat child labour together.
