Fundraising for Aswar AlKaaba Primary School

Aswar AlKaaba Primary School and its beautiful students in the rural outskirts of Qalaat Sukr, a town in the city of Nasriya, Iraq, need our help. 

As you can see from the photos below, the buildings provide what one can scarcely describe as a shelter.  They do not have access to water or electricity. The teachers and school principle report that the classrooms become flooded when it rains. The 

So far, the school has 97 students enrolled and this is set to increase in the next year. The government refuses to fund the school, claiming that they cannot afford to do so and the school has so far relied on small donations from parents who cannot afford to keep the school afloat. Without this school, these students would have to travel between 6 and 10kms to reach the nearest primary school in Qalaat Sukr, a journey which their parents simply cannot afford to make everyday. 

Your generous donations will go towards:

1. Fixing the roof
2. Ensuring access to electricity and water
3. Renovating the toilets
4. (If funds permit) renovating the classrooms entirely

The receiving party of the donations will be the school, represented by the school principle and teachers who will oversee this project.
