Fundraising for conservation trip to help kickstart career!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kathryn and I'm a student currently doing my BSc degree in Animal Management & Zoology!
I've received an amazing opportunity to participate in a trip to South Africa through Capel Manor College where we will take part in conservation & rehabilitation work at the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre and Kruger National Park.
I'm incredibly passionate about UK wildlife and it's my dream to pursue a career in environmental sciences, whether that be ecology, conservation, rehabilitation, or something similar. Practical experience is so key in getting a foothold in this industry and while I do volunteer regularly at my local ecology park, getting hands on experience with conservation & rehabilitation in South Africa is an incredible opportunity that would really help boost my career. Getting to learn from experts in the field is an amazing chance to learn new skills and perspectives, and I'm eager to see how lessons learned can be applied to help wildlife here in the UK.
I'm planning on doing sponsored community events to go towards the costs of the trip - currently these come to about £3,500. Any help no matter how small is greatly appreciated.
Currently I have arranged to do sponsored litter picking at Mudchute Farm over the Easter break to help keep the site clean for wildlife & visitors alike - I'll be sure to upload pictures! I'm hoping to arrange more fundraising events with the college & will be sure to update the feed with any news.
Thank you very much for you time & generosity!
