Fundraising for Katelyn
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Nyesha Hamil, and I'm fundraising for my niece Katelyn Reid.
On October 4th 2023, my niece Katelyn was rushed to the emergency room. After extensive testing, with her mom and dad by her side, Katelyn was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This was devastating news for her whole family, especially Katelyn not understanding the severity of this autoimmune disease . This is a fight for her life, and fight for survival.
Katelyns Blood sugar levels were at a very harmful level of 790, Which can lead to a diabetic coma.
For the pass 3 weeks financially things have been hard. Doctors bills are sky high, and they are struggling Financially in every direction. I created this gofundme to provide help for my sister and her family.
“Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness and caring to change a person's life.” ...
With Your help we can get them back on their feet financially, helping with food supply, insulin supply, and doctors bills. Please if your able to donate lets help my beautiful 10 year old niece. Thank you for donating `1Love`
A Statement from my sister
On October 1st our daughter started having a stomach ache, nasty burps, and throwing up. We thought she was going through acid reflux ( a normal thing for her ) something she goes through every so often that usually goes away within a couple of days. Her situation kept getting worse & she drastically lost weight. My oldest son said ‘why does she look like a skeleton?’. We decided to take her to intermountain children hospital. Our life changed forever that night. My baby was Diagnosed with Type1 Diabetes, We were devastated, our whole world shattered. We ended up staying in the hospital for 3 days, and things just haven’t been the same. We are constantly breaking down every time we have to give her her insulin shots. Mentally My husband, and I haven’t been well. We have missed numerous days of work, (which is a financial burden) we lack sleep, worrying about our baby, Every time she goes to sleep, or School. This has not been an easy transition for us but we are holding the faith and taking it one day at a time.
Please we are asking for the communities help, anything counts, Thank you.
