Let's Raise the Roof Repairs 4 RAS

Tax deductible
The Racine Astronomical Society was established in 1956 to promote interest in astronomy among amateurs and the Racine area public and operates the Modine-Benstead Observatory in Yorkville near Union Grove, WI.

We hold star parties and public viewing nights monthly from April-October.  We encourage visitors to take a look at the night sky at our dark location with various telescopes housed within the observatory and we answer questions about astronomy. Our club mission is to educate and inspire each of you to participate in the world of amatuer astronomy.

In order to allow everyone to enjoy the observatory and grounds, we don't charge admission to our events.  While we do collect donations, those donations pay for things like electricity, minor repairs and other recurring maintenance costs.

Unfortunately, being over 50 years old, the observatory is starting to show its age.  In particular, our storage building has a leaky roof that is in need of repairs - and that's where your help comes in!

All of the funds raised in this campaign will go to the Racine Astronomical Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization for the purpose of building repairs and maintenance.

Help us continue to spread the joys of the cosmos and spark the imagination of the next generation of astronomers.

Thanks for your support!
