Fundraising for the 18 Inch Journey!

Hey everybody!

My name is Dakota I recently found out that I was accepted into a discipleship program called The 18 Inch Journey. The name comes from the concept of the head and the heart being 18 inches apart. While that can seem like a small distance, many of us know that bridging the gap between them can be more challenging than we think. That there is a difference between knowing something in our head as knowledge and believing it in our hearts as personal revelation, especially when it comes to things like faith.

I started following Jesus back in January 2020. In the last two years, the Lord has been showing me more and more of himself and drawing me into a deeper relationship with him. He’s been healing my heart and building my identity in ways I didn’t know were possible. It’s been the single most beautiful and important decision I have made in my life.

The 18 Inch Journey is a two-month discipleship school in Sophia, North Carolina that values creativity, discipleship, and community. They are all about leading people deeper into the heart of God as a Father and doing the gritty heart work with the Lord that leads us into deeper freedom and intimacy with him. All of these are things my heart burns for. I feel strongly that this is something the Lord wants me to step into, and I am so excited to grow in my faith. But! I need a little help to get there!

The school is $4000, and in addition to that, I am trying to raise two months of rent and utilities to accommodate for the time I will not be in Nashville. In total, my goal is to raise $6,000! I have never in my life had to fundraise for anything so there is definitely a part of me that is nervous. But I know that the Lord is not only going to come through, but that he is also going to use even this experience of fundraising to show me his faithfulness and love for me in new ways. Also, as a fun incentive and a way to show how much I appreciate your support, for anyone who donates at least $100 I am going to write a minute-long personalized song! If you feel led to give, I would appreciate that more than you know, but if you are not able to, your prayers are just as meaningful to me!
