Fundraising for the Obenauers

Hi there,

Some friends of ours, the Obenaurs, are going through a horrific medical emergency with their son, Ira. The week of October 10, Ira collapsed at playschool and was rushed to the Stollery Hospital in Edmonton. That day, he had emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Thankfully, that first surgery was successful, however it only addressed the immediate symptoms.

The following day, Ira underwent surgery again to remove a tumour on his brainstem. While they believe the tumour is benign, they are still waiting final results. Ira is slowly waking up and responding to his parents but he has a long road to recovery. He will be in the hospital for at least one month and will need care at home for at least three months following that.

As you can imagine, this is a terrible time for the Obenauers and money will only complicate things. We would like to raise some money to address the basics as Ira goes through recovery. Please give what you can to support little Ira, his parents Ryan and Rebecca, and his sister and brother Willow and Zeke.
