Funds for amputation due to pyoderma gangrenosum.

Hello, I’m Jade and I need to ask for your help…. I’ve travelled a long road with this condition and I didn’t want to have to go for private treatment but due to recurring infections (sepsis 8 times) I desperately need to have my immune system reduced, my arm amputated and a prosthetic. It needs to be done soon as the doctors have said that the infection will return and each time it gets worse, I’m stuck in Medway Hospital at the moment just waiting for a bed in a london hospital that doesn’t seem to be materialising, I’m on super strong painkillers and constantly sick because I have a nerve exposed on my wrist, we’re getting nowhere fast and the risk of getting sepsis again is so high I need to ask for your help to get the operation I desperately need.

This all started 4 years ago, I got a cut on my arm pulling someone out of the water just below my elbow and it healed relatively well, but then it spread like wildfire down to my fingers with big black solid ulcers, the hospital debrided it and didn’t know until it was too late that a debridement was actually the worst choice for someone with my pyoderma gangrenosum (as my body can attack any wound) and that just made things worse. I started getting infection after infection and wounds with big black ulcers all over my body, this part was hard, the steroids made me swell up and the ulcers are very painful and unsightly.

Ive been on deaths door 8 times now, my son is 12 and I’ve watched most of the last 4 years of his life from a hospital bed, I’ve saved lives on my own volition over the years and I know I’m asking for a miracle, I just want to be a mum again and a daughter who isn’t a burden on my family.

The last time I went home from hospital like this I only managed 3 days at home before having a 20 hour seizure and delirium due to the infection spreading. They’d thought it had gone down but it spreads like lightning.

4 years after that first small cut, it’s been the same story, pain every second of the day, infection after infection. There’s only so much one person can endure, my body will continue to attack itself but with the arm removed I might stand a chance at a decent recovery.

The bone is so exposed now, there’s just no way the infection will stay away… even the doctors know this and I’m getting more resistant to the antibiotics the more they use them. So it needs to be removed ASAP and it looks like the only way to do it fast enough is with your help!
