Funds for Black Lives Matter murals in Tucson
Donation protected
Hey everyone! I'm putting together a Black Lives Matter mural project for Tucson to pair black artists with prominent walls around the community. The goal is to provide the means get their artistic voices into the streets in high visibility areas.
They are creating the designs and I am facilitating with getting paint, supplies and volunteers as well as finding walls they can use. I'm also donating my time to helping the artists paint the murals. Last night artist Robbie Lee Harris and I put his mural up on the side of the Rialto Theatre. I'm going down tonight to prep walls for 2 more artists on the MSA annex by downtown. I've had a bunch of people message me to ask how they can donate to the project... so here it is!
Right now there are 3 definite artists and walls set up, Robbie Lee Harris, To-ree-nee Wolf and Adia Jamille. I'm in the works for two more but they are not guaranteed yet.
Right now I am doing this all out of pocket. I've set the amount at $500... but I hope not to spend that much. All money raised above what I spend on paint and supplies will be split among the black artists who designed the murals as payment for their art, which they are currently doing pro-bono. I will not take a cut. Please let me know if you have any questions! And thanks so much to all of you that reached out to volunteer and donate!!
