Funds for Jeremy Davy and family

August of this year, Jeremy suffered a major heart attack and was airlifted by Westpac Helicopter to John Hunter ICU in Newcastle. The damage caused by the heart attack required a triple bypass operation, but the procedure was never able to go ahead, and still hasn't.

This was because the medication given to Jeremy to thin his blood for the heart attack was given in too-high of a dose, causing a severe brain bleed resulting in permanent brain damage. His body would not be stable enough to survive a bypass operation.

Medical staff in the Newcastle Neurological Ward are doing incredible work with Jeremy, although there is still a long road of recovery before his rehab starts in Rankin Park. Jeremy has no short-term memory and requires feeding tubes and IV drips permanently. However, due to the nature of the brain injury, he pulls these cords out of himself, making it a difficult and stressful time for recovery for staff, family and himself.

Helen and Jeremy have been married now for 33 years. with 3 children together. Many may know Jeremy through his time in Real Estate or Carpet Cleaning in Forster, Tuncurry, and Helen who has been hairdressing in Forster, Tuncurry for 13 years. This GoFundMe has been put together by her children with the assistance of Troy Perrim, in an initiative to provide much needed monetary support for the family during this time.

Bills at home, medical expenses and medical related travel and accommodation have been stacking up, and with Jeremy and Helen unable to work it has been difficult to say the least.

We are reaching out to our community for support to assist in these bills as we are looking at another year of back and forth travel for medical attention and uncertainty.
