Good evening FB family and friends, your help is needed. Michele Stevenson is a friend of mine that I’ve known for 15 ½ years. This woman right here would give you the shirt off her back. Now she needs help. She’s currently lives in Michigan. Prior to moving back home, she lived here in Charlotte working for several companies. TSA, US Airways now American Airline, Air general and FedEx Express just to name a few. Upon returning to Flint, she worked for Huntington Bank. And now General Motors, she’s on FLMA with no pay. 

The Tuesday after Christmas her only child Kaden got air lifted to Helen Devos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. When he was admitted his heart was at 4%. His heart, liver and kidneys were failing. He has Toxic shock syndrome secondary to strep A along with influenza A. The bacterial in his blood caused his leg and arm to swell. Here are just a few things that I wanted to add in this. This young man is only seven and was very active in karate and soccer. Kaden is in the first grade at Brendel Elementary in Grand Blanc, MI. The infection caused damage to his tissues. His entire right calf muscle was removed. He had hyperbaric chamber treatments to save as much as possible tissue in his feet and legs.

Kaden ended up having both legs amputated. The left leg was done below the knee. His right leg was done above the knee. The right leg still has an open wound. The doctors are waiting for his leg to heal, but at some point he will need a skin graft.

Kaden has a long way to go. His mom will need a wheelchair accessible vehicle as well as a home that is more accessible. Kaden's mom wants Kaden to have an opportunity to once again be independent around the home. Their current home is not handicap accessible.
