Funds for studying abroad in Italy
Donation protected
My name is Kayla Smith. I am 19 years old, and currently a second year student attending Cal State Fullerton. I am majoring in art, and have recently been accepted into a year-round study abroad program in Florence, Italy through CSU. Since the first moment I heard about this program specifically my first semester here, I have had the dream of attending it, and it has finally come true.
I have always been keen on traveling and learning from new cultures, especially in ways that could help pave the way for my future career in art. I have not had many chances to do so, though, due to lack of time and/or lack of funds. But attending this program could break that streak.
Unfortunately, I have just recently discovered the price of this program and it is far out of my budget range, for a total of $30,000. I have yet to receive financial aid, but I know it would not nearly cover this cost.
By donating, you would be funding me and my education with an opportunity not many people get to have. $15,000 may sound like a lot (and it is a lot, I know) but if this goal is reached, or is even close to being reached, I know I could make up the rest through scholarships and fundraising for myself.
Any amount of donation is welcomed.
There is a strict deadline in June that a certain amount has to be paid off by, as well as $500 to be paid off by May to secure my spot. The sooner I am able to raise this money, the better.
If and when I am studying abroad, I promise to pay back all the donors by being active on Facebook and posting a lot of pictures. J
I appreciate all the support and words of encouragement and I cannot wait to be studying art the place where it was born.
