Funds to help Laura and her family escape war in Lebanon

My name is Fatima and I’m raising funds for my friend Laura (35) and her two children, Elena (5) and Adam (7).

Laura and her children currently live in Lebanon and due to the continuously escalating political situation they have had to flee their home and they are at risk daily.

Laura has already lost her home to the ongoing aggression. Luckily they were able to flee before it was bombed.

Laura and her children have Canadian visitor visas and are able to come

to Canada to be safe while the situation hopefully de-escalates and they are able to return home. But Laura is also currently pregnant, if she is able to come to Canada she will need the funds the receive the medical care required to give birth in hospital. This can range between $10,000-$25,000 CAD depending on the care required due to the birth plan, post natal care and if any paediatric care is required for the baby once born.

Laura has family in Canada who are willing to open their home to her and her children so they can safely await to return home to Lebanon. They are also able to cover the costs of flights, food, and shelter during her stay. But she will not able to come to Canada if she cannot gather the funds to give birth.

Any funds remaining after the medical costs are covered will be used to pay for necessities for the infant, Laura and her two children.
