Funds to increase Production of 3D Printed Masks
Donation protected
Seeing that we all are running out of masks. I started to look online on how i can utilize 3D printing to help. A lot of people started to print Face Shields but no one was producing a quality mask in my opinion. Starting with two opensource mask designs, I took the best parts from each to create the mask I am now producing using my 3D printer at home. I have been donating the masks to First Responders, and other medical staff, but can only print 10 – 12 a day with my Ender 5 Plus. In order to increase production of these 3D Printed Masks, I am looking to buy 2 more Ender 5 Plus Printers at $580.00 each, and a Phrozen Transform Large Resin 3D Printer for $2200.00 to print Children's Masks and associated parts. In addition to the cost of the printers, I also need to purchase PLA Filament and SLA Resin, as well as other supplies needed to finish the masks making them airtight.
The first few batches of masks were donated, however, in order to continue production, some of the masks are being sold, with all proceeds being used to purchase additional supplies. The goal is to sell enough masks to make production self-sustaining, while still being able to donate the majority of the masks to medical staff, law enforcement, first responder, and others on the front lines fighting this virus.
Are these masks as good as N95, no. But are they better then dust and fabric masks, most likely. The filter design allows different type of filters to be stacked with Cotton Makeup Rounds as pre-filters.
I am trying to make a difference and hope everyone can also help!
