RAISE FUNDS FOR SUPERMAN
Kia Orana family and friends!
As many may know our beloved brother and son Ngametua Tupe Takau Tupuna Willie aka Superman was involved in a serious car accident involving four cars on the Pacific Motorway in the Gold Coast on Monday the 20th of June. Tupe initially travelled to the Gold Coast for a Business Conference with his sister Maruia Willie however was on his way back to the airport to return to Sydney when a truck rammed into the back of the vehicle he was in. This incident left his cousin and Aunty with several injuries however Tupe was severely affected by the impact as he was seated in the rear of the vehicle.
He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital where medical staff feared the worst for our boy. Luckily he endured a fracture to his skull which saved his life. Induced in a coma with injuries to his head/face as well as his arm, his family was presented with heartbreaking news that Tupe had a 50% chance of survival and 0% chance of recovery. Such news did not deteriorate his mother and family's hope and faith in God however on Sunday the 26th of June, Tupe responded fighting all odds.
Tupe is 23 years of age and is a hardworking individual with a strong passion for sports and his Cook Island Culture. He is currently a Tutor and dancer of our Manea Pacifica team as well as Ura Eiva Performing Arts. He has also had vast involvement in our Cook Island Community Sydney especially the Atiu Sydney Community. As you can imagine, Tupe has a big family and is loved unconditionally by all! He has touched many lives and has volunteered so much of his time to help people.
Doctors have informed his family with excellent news that there have been no injuries to his brain however he will undergo a two year rehab and it is predicted that he will be in hospital for months. Although we have faith that this will not be the case as our team truly believe in the power of prayer and we know Superman is a fighter, we have also dwelled over the medical expenses he and his family will be left with as well as the hardship they would have to experience flying back and forth from Sydney to the Gold Coast. Knowing they are a family based in Sydney, his mother has had to sacrifice her full time job to be with her son. We are hoping for Tupe to be transferred to Sydney in the near future but for the meantime, his family are currently taking turns in travelling to and from the Gold Coast.
We humbly ask you from the bottom of our hearts to consider donating to Superman (Tupe) and his family to help ease the stress to cover medical and transportation expenditure. The last thing we would want is our boy recovering with a heavy burden on his shoulders.
All funds will be transferred directly to Tupe's bank account.
PLEASE HELP SUPPORT SUPERMAN!
With Love MANEA PACIFICA
