On July 17, 2014, our CEO was in the playground for a shooting. Thankfully no one was hurt, but this was the final straw. Within three weeks, we organized and launched the I AM PEACE 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament as a means to convert the war zone to a PEACE ZONE.
We are now preparing for 3peace, the third annual I AM PEACE Tournament on August 13, 2016 at Jackie Robinson Playground.
Your dollars will help to create the event, going to necessary resources such as uniforms, trophies, event staff, and snacks for the student athletes.
Beyond the one-day annual tournament, we operate year-round mentorship programming with teens in our community, with the eventual goal of building a community recreation and education center here in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
