Tondra Michelle Thompson is beautiful, brilliant, and selfless. She is a warrior for those who need a warrior, she is a shelter for those who need shelter, and she is a mother for those who need a mother. This past March Tondra was diagnosed with a highly aggressive form of breast cancer. Cancer of any kind is an arduous mountain to climb, but climb this mountain victoriously she will.
As a single mother 40 years of age with four of her nine children left to raise and nurture, the challenge of overcoming cancer will be her greatest victory. Tondra has rescued four of her children through the process of adoption (two of which are still at home); this motherly virtue is a beautiful picture of her desire and love to help others. As a mother, she has worked endlessly for 22 years in order to raise and support her children. Vocationally, she has counseled those who have been abused physically, sexually, and emotionally, constantly fighting for others, joining alongside them in difficult times and leading them to victory. Now it is time for her to be victorious over cancer for herself and for her children.
Currently, Tondra does not have health insurance and has stopped working in order to focus all her energy – both physically and mentally - on fighting breast cancer. The stress of raising children, battling an aggressive disease, and also trying to figure out how to pay for medical treatment is difficult. Her goal is to raise money in order to help remove some of the stressors that are present and help her focus all of her energy on a triumphant fight against the cancer in her body and on loving and enjoying her children.
In the last eight months, Tondra has had three surgeries, including a double mastectomy, and went through three extrememly difficult months of chemotherapy. Prior to having surgery, she moved her family to a smaller, more economical home that is manageable for her and her children while she enters this stage of intensive treatment. Her doctors have said that without chemo-therapy, she will not survive. On the other hand, the doctors have also said that her immune system is too weak to handle chemo-therapy. Indeed, her immune system is not well at all. The chemotherapy depleted her immune system and now she must under go stem-cell treatment to help restore her immune system so that her body can continue to heal.
With the help of many generous donations, Tondra recieved treatment at the Optimum Health Institute in San Diego in order to help strengthen her immune system, bring her body to an alkaline state, and give her the treatment she needed on her path to victory over cancer.
Tondra now needs help during this crucial phase of her triumph over cancer.
Her nexts steps are to raise money to travel to Florida to recieve immunotherapy treatment from a world renown medical doctor, Dr. Maharaj,at the South Florida Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant Institute. She needs to raise the entire amount of funds for her upcoming treatment which will cost $61000. This cost will cover a Functional Blood Test, a Test of Cancer Cells in Blood Stream, and Immunotherapy.
The $61,000 IN ADDITION to the $6700 raised earlier this year will set OUR NEW TOTAL GOAL to $66,500.
While our sights are set on raising the entire amount for her treatment - we have to raise AT LEAST $4000 dollars by December 16th!
Raising $4000 dollars by December 16th will enable Tondra to book her appointment and have her initial labs done ($2500) and also have her Blood Cancer Cell labs done ($1500).
There are two ways to join her in triumph over cancer:
First, please consider a monetary donation. Join alongside her by donating money towards her treatment, join the army of support and count yourself among those who are fighting valiantly and victoriously with her. Our goal is to raise the entire $61000 for her treatment.
Second, pray and ask that God would give her strength, peace of mind, and faith that she will engage this challenge and see it as a means to grow closer to Him.
