Funeral Aid for Paralyzed Shooting Victim Andrew
Donation protected
- Hi, my name is Sara. Today, I come to you, our community, our neighbors, our family, and our friends with a heavy heart and a burden too heavy for this family to carry alone, after all they have suffered through these past 2 years, especially the last few hours.
It is because of Young Innocent Andrew, I ask that you open your hearts and donate to Andrew Neal Jr.'s funeral. He was 22 when he passed away at his mother's home. At age 20, as he was walking home from the laundromat one gloomy day in the west end of Louisville, and like so many young people before him, he was shot by a car with two boys he had never met who we can only think thought he was someone he wasn't. The shooter and driver were never caught and are still at large, leaving Drew dying on the ground. On the corner of 26th and Main St., he was left bleeding out, shot over 6 times. He was rushed to UofL Hospital, and it was there that his life, or what was left of it, was saved. After surviving life support, he came back to us paralyzed from the neck down and bound to a bed and wheelchair.
His family, not having much if any income, barely got by day to day, and God finally called Drew home and took him from the misery he suffered through daily. His family tried to provide and care for him the best they could, but Drew needed care that only a medical facility could have provided, but he refused to be anywhere that wasn't his mother's. Now, this poor family, after 2 years of suffering through this with young Andrew, are having to suffer more by the burden of not being able to provide Drew the funeral he so desperately deserves.
Drew was smart, young, vibrant, and very good with kids, enjoying a baby's smile and innocence. He loved to play video games and was so funny, always trying to stay in good spirits in such horrific, trying times in his young life all the way up until he drew his last breath. Andrew would do anything for anyone before this tragedy struck and still after. So we ask, please help us give this young beautiful soul a funeral much deserved. He gave so much of himself to everyone's life he touched; let's give back to him.
