Funeral Aid for Vivencio: Battling Cancer
Donation protected
In December 2021, my dad, Vivencio Malong Jr., was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer because it had already reached his bones. He went through three different types of treatment, which took about 2 1/2 years. In July, we did a final full-body CT scan and had good news that the cancer in his bones around his body had shrunk and in his skull had disappeared. He was on a treatment plan with his daily medication and bone injections. For 1 1/2 months, he started to get headaches, and I needed to bring him to the ER because of the pain in his head. After that ER visit, he took another full-body CT scan, and we were referred to many different specialists: Neurosurgeon, Neurology, and Radiation from his oncologist because the cancer had traveled all the way up to his skull. After getting referred to these doctors and waiting for treatment plans, he was getting more headaches, body pains, and started to lose blood. On November 19, I brought him back to the ER because he felt weak and numb. They gave him a blood transfusion and stronger pain meds. While being admitted and having the blood transfusion, he felt better and stronger to where he passed physical therapy, and his vitals and blood counts were good, so he got discharged. A day later, he wasn't able to walk and became bedridden with lots of pain. As another day went by, he was taken to the ER because of pain in his head. When I went to the ER, he was still responsive. His last words to me were, "I'm tired; I didn't rest for 3 days." In the ER, he went to sleep and went into a coma and didn't respond. Two days in the ER, they did a CT scan of his head and chest. Results came back for the head, and we found out that his skull had become more thickened and was squeezing his left side of the brain, which was filled with fluids. Because of his age at 70 and cancer diagnosis, we can't perform surgery, so I decided to let him live comfortably. I'm asking for the public to please help me with my dad's funeral costs. Any donation would help me and my family.
