Our loving Father & Hawaiian Veteran Edgal Herman Keonaona Clark Sr. passed away peacefully Late Sunday night 12-18-22 in Hilo,Hawaii.
We would love to honor his last wish by laying him to rest at The Veterans Memorial in Kaneohe, HI. He served for many years in the military and it played a very important role in his life. It taught him values like commitment, discipline and dedication to leadership for the freedom of our country. Not only did he dedicate time to his country, but he was also a fun man full of love for God and his family.
We understand it is a difficult time in almost everyone's life financially at the moment but any contribution you make will immensely help as we do not have much time.
Overall we know this is all in God's Grace & Hands.

☉Biography On Our Dad
  • Edgal Clark Sr. was born July 8, 1955 on the beautiful island of Oahu, HI to Edgar Philip Clark Sr & Florence Kauanui.
✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧
  • Edgal Sr was the 6th out of 8 children total that Edgar and Florence had after they married back on October 25, 1944.
  • They raised their 8 children in Waipahu, HI.
  • He had 7 loving siblings in total.
  • 5 brothers and 2 sisters
✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧
In 1971 at the very young age of 16 our dad proudly enlisted in the Army.
  • Edgal Sr was stationed in Washington where he met the mother of his children. He worked hard and provided them a good home.
  • In 1982 he took a break from his army career and in 1986 he landed in Kelso, WA.
  • In 1986 Dad returned home to Oahu. Once he returned home to his family on Oahu it is believed he re-enlisted in military services again but we are still waiting to verify for how long he served total from age 16..
  • Our dad then began work as a CDL Truck Driver with a DHL on the Island.
  • Because of his passion for knowledge of Hawaii and her native people he began work as a Tour Bus Driver with TransHawaiian and then Roberts Hawaii Tour Bus.
  • Dad finally landed working at Wiki Wiki Shuttle at the Airport. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his years in transportation. His coworkers also enjoyed working with him. He was a kind man whom they were sad to see have to leave there due to health issues.
  • Dad was retired and relocated to Pahoa, HI with his new bride Diane Sachiko Shimomura along with their 2 fur babies Max & Ku. They enjoyed the quiet peacefulness of the countryside together. They had loved one another and been each other's rock for well over 12 years. They were both eagerly looking forward to what would have been their 1st Wedding Anniversary on February 14th, 2023.
---Diane deserves a medal of honor herself for taking such great care of dad over the years during his rough battle with diabetes. We love her so much and will forever appreciate all she has done for our beloved father. Diane's son Michael who passed away at the age of 27 is resting in heaven with Dad as well now. She loved them both dearly.

With God’s grace,

to commemorate the heroic deeds
of Hawaii’s warriors and The Veterans

of their unselfish sacrifices
And the support of those
many others who gave us our liberty.

Let us cherish always,
Our spirit of unity as a nation,
And the peace that prevails,
Throughout the land.
Mai poina kakou,
I keia mau mea nui,
O na koa Hawaii a pau,
Mai poina, mai poina, mai poina.

The great feats of valor,
Of all our beloved soldiers of Hawaii.
