funeral and memorial fund for Mahala Michelle Ross

Donation protected
We lost Mahala Michelle Ross on the 13.4.2020 to her 10 month battle with stage 4 lung cancer! Mahala was a fighter she was 49 years old and lived a great life, full of singing, dancing, she had 10 children and lived her life with joy and was surrounded by love! Mahala was a great mother, daughter, grand-daughter, sister and friend to many who were lucky to have known mahala and her kind heart along her journey in life! We as a family are greatly lost without Mahala and she will be dearly missed by all. We are trying our best as a family to do what is right for our mum and unfortantly with current restrictions and financial difficulties we have not been able to lay Mahala to rest at the current moment! This is devestating for all her family and friends. THE 2 REASONS WHY: COVID-19 restrictions and financial circumstances as mum did not have a funeral plan in place before she passed. As most of you would all be aware the restrictions limited 10 people only to attend funeral including the staff needed to hold a funeral service and as most of you are aware mum has lots of family and friends! That being said this has made planning a funeral very hard with COVID-19 restrictions and financially as funeral homes unfortantly havnt supported big families in these circumstances and we would need to pay for 2 or more separate funeral services and only 8 immediate family members would be able attend per service. (we are hoping to hear more on friday 8th of may after the government cabinet meeting after they make a decision on what restrictions will be eased so hopefully funerals will allow numbers to increase so we only need 1 service for mums funeral to take place so then it is financially more affordable for us and all immediate family members can attend 1 funeral service) If this is not the case we will have to pay for 2 funeral services for immediate family members before mum is cremated and layed to rest, then shortly after within the few days we will hold a memorial service at old noarlunga park which may need be in groups of up to 10 people at different times of the day as long as we apply with current social distancing restrictions within parks! The memorial service will be to have joy over mums life, ponder on memories and have a chance to say your farewell in a beautiful park! Mums favorite music will be playing, We will have helium balloons for each group to write a message on to send into the sky, we will have some of mums best photos for all to look at and most importantly mums ashes will be present in a urn, We will have memorial cards made so each family can take one home for memory and a memorial book for you to document your respects payed in mums name on the day of the memorial service, I think this will be a great way for everyone to attend a service. Unfortantly the trouble we are having is mum did not have a funeral plan in place and we are trying to save to cover the cost of all the expenses for mums funeral and to go ahead, we have $2500 saved and funeral costs are going to exceed $5000 + with funeral, cremation and memorial service! Our goal is to try and raise funds to help towards the final cost of everything involved and if you can help donate it would be greatly appriciated by our family for your contribution at this very difficult time.
