Funeral and Service for Patty's mom

Hello.  I am Kristen Gentry and one of my best friends in the world, Patty Kinney, lost her beloved mother this morning.  Mrs. Kyu (Kim) Kinney, who was Patty Kinney's beloved mother and Samara Kinney's beloved grandmother became an angel.  Ms. Kim was enjoying the sun in Florida on Spring Break last week with Patty and Samara, when she had a traumatic event on
Monday, March 27, 2017.   After a long week in the Blake Medical Center,  in Bradenton, Florida, Ms. Kim lost her battle today, Monday, April 3, 2017.    

It was a difficult week but I believe that Ms. Kim was always happy at the beach and she had a wonderful day on Sunday, March 26th, interacting with a mess of children and enjoying the Florida sunshine.  She has always loved the beach and the sun.  And children always made her smile.  Even after her mind began to wander, she seemed most at home and present at the beach and while around the kids.  My family and I have been blessed to spend time with Ms. Kim, Patty and Samara on Spring Break and in Michigan at the beach for the last several years.  This year was a full house.  Full of friends, family, love and understanding.  To wrap around Patty and Samara.   

Patty has always taken such great care of her mother---traveling with her and being her sole caretaker (with Samara) for the last several years.  When I was with Patty last week at the hospital, it was comforting to hear, from the wonderful staff and doctors at Blake Medical Center, the recognition they gave to Patty for her unconditional care of her mother.     

My family and I were fortunate to be there . . . perhaps the love that my family and I have for Ms. Kim, Patty, and Samara helped just a little . . .  in this very difficult time.  And now I am reaching out for a little more help  for Ms. Kim, Patty and Samara.   

I have set up this Go Fund Me campaign to help Patty bring Ms. Kim home to bury her.  Patty wants to bury her mother next to her father, Bill Kinney, who preceeded Ms. Kim in death.  Ms. Kim wanted to be buried next to him.  And Patty would like to fulfill her last wishes. 

However, like so many women of Ms. Kim's generation, she did not carry a life insurance policy.  So, I am asking all of you to please give whatever amount you can afford to help Patty bring Ms. Kim to her final resting place.  

The cost of transporting Ms. Kim back to Indiana; the two different funeral homes; memorial service; and burial---are substantial-- cost is estimated around $15,000.  This does not include out of pocket medical expenses in Kim's last week at the hospital and hospice.  So we are hoping to raise $20,000 to cover the costs.
