Funeral arrangements for Wanda (Juan) Diabo

Hi, my name is Georgia,

I’ve started this fundraiser in hopes of fulfilling my mom’s wishes of being laid to rest in her home province.

30 years ago, she came from Quebec all the way to BC by herself to pursue her dreams of going to school in Penticton. There, she met my dad and together they started a family of 5. Myself, my big sister and my little brother.

13 years ago she fought the battle against breast cancer and was able to overcome it. She told us she had no choice because she had three little kids waiting for mom to get better, so losing wasn’t an option.

Unfortunately, only a few years later she was re-diagnosed with cancer. At the time she was given 3-5 years left of life, but that was 8 years ago now. She asked her cancer to wait till her kids were grown up and it listened.

But here we are now, with our mom in hospice care and her kids grown up. Knowing the time is coming when our mom will finally be able to rest after her long and difficult fight.

Her wish for where she would like to be buried is the place she grew up. It’s far from where we call home, but the place she has always considered it as such. We hope to make that wish her reality, but the cost is unfortunately too much for just our family to cover.

Please consider donating in the name of Wanda, a loving mom who has given her kids more than what money can buy. She committed her life to being there for us.

The money collected from this fundraiser will go towards the costs of sending our mom back home after death. The funeral and burial expenses, and the opportunity for her family to travel there with her.
