Funeral & Burial expenses for our mother, Gladys

Our mother lived in a nursing facility where she contracted COVID not just once but for a 2nd time. When the vaccine became available she willing accepted it hoping to never experience it again. Contracting COVID was beyond her control, she did what she could, but she was vulerable. Both times she was brave and she fought hard, only this time, on November 27, 2021, she lost her fight.

 

Just hours before her passing she said over and over “I want to live and not die” but her lungs were diminished and her body was weak. The only thing we could do was be there for her, make sure she was calm and comfortable, as she began her journey towards the end of her earthly life.

 

Mom at one point had life insurance, but after our fathers passing , before obtaining guardianship and during a struggle with her mental illness she cashed it in.

 

Due to her death being COVID related, we are aware there is FEMA assistance available for reimbursement, however , we do not have the amount to cover the funeral and burial expenses upfront. So it is with a heavy heart we are asking for donations during the grieving of our wonderful mother to help our family with these expenses and provide her wishes.
