Funeral Costs for Elpidio “Joe” “Pilo” Pinto

Elpidio Pinto was the epitome of hard work and strength. Known by most as “Uncle Joe” or “Uncle Pilo”. He proudly wore many hats during his lifetime, and was incredible at each one. The husband of Joan, father of Vic, “papa” to Aaliyah and Dash, father-in-law to Larissa, uncle and Lolo to so many. He was a proud Merchant Marine in the Philippines, and a chef and building maintenance worker here in the U.S. 

The joys of his life grew to be his only 2 grandkids, Aaliyah and Dash. He loved them so much. He was always so proud of them. His smiles and laughter would come from watching them dance and play basketball and just acting silly.

Throughout his life, he struggled with many health battles, but he
always came out stronger with a
smile on his face.

In May 2020, a stroke left him unable to move the right side of his body. He was then moved to an assisted living facility to get the proper care that he needed. Due to the current pandemic, family and friends were only allowed to visit and talk to him through a screen window. His son and grandkids dropped off home cooked meals often just so he could feel a sense of home.

Just a few weeks ago he tested positive for COVID
which developed into pneumonia.He was being treated at Kaiser where he fought alongside his doctors and nurses. He fought long enough just to be here to celebrate Vic’s 38th birthday on earth on February 8th, and then he knew it was time to go and reunite with his wife, Joan, in heaven.
