José Samuel Murillo Gil, 62, of San Ysidro, CA, passed away on Sunday, December 4th, 2022.
José was born on August 5th, 1960 to Esperanza Gil de Murillo and Samuel Ambrocio Murillo in Huaniqueo, Michoacan. Before college, he fathered 4 children, José Samuel Murillo Jr., Yessenia Esperanza Murillo, Christian Giovany Murillo, and Brenda Monroy.
He obtained his law degree from La Universidad Autonoma de Baja California (UABC) in 1990, and worked a successful career as an independent lawyer.
He fathered 2 more children, Bryan Steven Murillo, and Ariana Edith Murillo, with his first wife, Brenda Chan, before marrying his surviving spouse, Herminia Murillo.
In his free time, José loved playing soccer, a sport which produced his closest of friendships. He also enjoyed singing and playing guitar in many bands.
José was predeceased by his brother, Cervando Armando Murillo, and his father. He is survived by his mother along with his siblings, Jorge, Manuel, Noel, Aurora, Elizabeth and Lourdes.
Services will be held at California Cremation and Mortuary on Monday, December 19th, at 5pm. Mass will be held at our lady of Mt. Carmel in San Ysidro on Tuesday, December 20th at 10AM before laying Jose to rest at Greenwood Memorial.
