Funeral costs & time for Khaleel's family

My name is Kayley, and I work as a bereavement doula with Mecca, the aunt of baby Khaleel. Tragedy struck Khaleel's family this week when he was found not breathing.

Although he was rushed to a local Roanoke hospital, he sadly did not survive the lack of oxygen. He was only two months old, and will be missed dearly by:

- his grieving parents, Ali and Dezerae.

- his siblings, including his twin sister, Khalia.

- and all of his extended family and friends, including Mecca and Ruqiyah, two bereavement doulas on my nonprofit team.

The family is in need of financial assistance to cover the cost of his funeral and burial.

As members of the Islamic faith, their funerals have very specific requirements in order to honor baby Khaleel's life and transition his body to the cemetery. While local Muslim funeral homes have lowered costs as much as they can, they still require funds to pay for his burial.

A local Imam in Roanoke is helping them prepare for the burial, but they could most use donations to cover these unexpected costs for his medical care, his funeral, and time for his parents to stay home and grieve his unexpected loss far too soon.

No parent should have to bury their child. They should also never have to wonder if they can afford his burial as their faith requires.
