Funeral Donation in Honor of Trung Tran

My Dad was an Asian immigrant who came to the U.S when he was a only 16 years old. He is the 3rd youngest of 9 children. He grew up knowing that hard work and family were the path to dignity and all he wanted was to be a good provider, a loving family man and a friend to all who crossed paths. My Dad was tragically killed in an accident this past week. He was standing atop a fence trimming branches for a friend when the bigger branch he was holding onto suddenly broke which resulted in him falling. His injury was catastrophic and instant. He was gone. This unexpected loss of my Dad has shocked our community. He was well known for being immensely selfless and his generous nature ultimately led to his accidental death. He was the guy who genuinely cared about helping people even at the expense of his own health. He was a handyman who took pleasure in fixing cars, painting houses, building, and anything else that took hard work and dedication for friends, family, neighbors and strangers. It’s the kind of work that really takes a toll on your body but he was still very passionate about helping everyone.

I wanted to explain the days leading up to his death…The week before he died, he’d wake up at 4am for his regular job, come home at 4pm to eat lunch (most times nothing at all), then rush straight to his side job that involved manual labor. My family was barely able to see or talk to him that entire week. He’d get home as late as 10pm and briefly spoke with my mom before falling asleep. My dad worked so hard because he loved so hard. He wanted to make extra pocket money so that my Mom wouldn’t have to work so hard herself and so that he can provide a good life for his children. Even working that tirelessly, he never complained and always came home with a big smile. He was all too happy to be a good husband and father. He was our provider; he was our rock. He was just reaching the best years of his life with two children graduating college and his eldest raising his first grandson. And yet, he still wanted to give his family and friends literally everything he had. He gave himself selflessly to others with tremendous humility and grace. He was selfless until the very end…His community is saddened that he didn’t get to take a breath and relax for himself. He took joy in helping whenever and wherever he could. My dad was happy with the simplest things in life and all he wanted was to help others in any way he could.

Thank you for your time. All donations will be used to pay for the funeral and any other expenses that arise for our family in the coming months. I hope to honor his name by doing good in the world and providing for my family.
