Funeral donations for Melvin Toney

We’ll miss you, Mel

To our family and friends,

Our dear son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend Melvin Toney, 50 years old from Moab, UT, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, from a traumatic brain injury. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

With this loss comes the responsibility of securing funding for Mel’s funeral expenses. Our family is seeking donations to cover the $6,000.00 fee, which includes a burial plot, Spanish Valley Mortuary services and additional funeral costs. We would appreciate your prayers on his behalf if you cannot donate.

Mel loved his country music, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and hanging around the guys/brothers. He loved his sisters and would often say that he wanted to go “home” to Moab from the care center he stayed at for nearly two years in Blanding, Utah.

If you are a recipient of Mel’s artwork, you know the talent he possessed, and we consider all of his artwork priceless, so please honor his drawings by sharing them with those you love.

Our family wishes to express our sincere appreciation for the visits, phone calls and concerns poured out to Mel’s family. Any additional funding received beyond our request will be applied towards the mounting medical expenses.

Location - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Moab 3rd Ward, 701 Locust Lane.

Date - Saturday, August 27, 2022.

Funeral services 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Interment - Grand Valley Cemetery, 2651 Spanish Valley Dr., Moab, UT.
