Funeral expense and travel to bring James home
Donation protected
UPDATE
(July 12,2022)-family is awaiting their flight details James is expected to be flying back to BC Wednesday or Thursday. My mother would love to join but with the donations received so far we are gifting to his family with the costs of travel the family would benefit from the tremendous amount of help that has been provided.
(July 9,2022)- my mother was able to purchase and drop off James’ clothing this morning. While he was a man of simplicity James always could pull off a Johnny Cash style. We are awaiting flight information and hoping that my mother will be able to join, my mom and both our families have been blown away with the support that we have been receiving. We are all at a list for words and continuously update how much closer we are to ensuring her save travels and being able to provide James’ family more financial support ❤️❤️
Our family was met with devastating news July 3rd. James had sought medical attention the evening of July 2nd and had ended up leaving the hospital (unknown reasoning) and his body was located in a park on University Avenue deceased.
James Tylee a well known jokester around the downtown Toronto area, a son, a brother, a step-father figure, a partner and best friend. Through his time in Toronto smiled through many of the barriers he had to overcome with the demands of the outrageous housing that left him homeless for a period of time, and to trying to obtain employment while being homeless. James was always seen with a big smiley grin, and taking care of those around him. He was a very giving individual, that always put others first before himself. James was always accompanied by my mother Marsha the two were known as Emjay and Trice. She is grieving and has helped the family as much as she is able to with expenses. A short time ago, James’ mother and sister flew his brother Jimmy Tylee’s body home and was met with the same tragedy.
James’ family is located in Prince George, BC. ODSP is covering the funeral home costs while his body is embalmed in Toronto, and his First Nation band will be covering the flight of the body home. Unfortunately the funds end there, the family is on their own after the body is home. Funeral expenses and burial is expected to come out of their pockets, along with any mothers travel and return to be able to bring James’ body back to home to his family after 25 years of him being in Ontario. We are hoping to raise enough to be able to provide my mother a safe return home from BC as an indigenous women, we are concerned for her safety returning home who was so willingly to hitchhike across Canada following the service.
We are asking for any help possible in helping the family give James Agram Tylee a proper burial.
Chi’migwech and thank you
