Anna Maria (Schmid) Klaritsch, born on July 22, 1929 in Augsburg, Germany, departed this world on May 3, 2023 in New Port Richey, Florida, USA at the age of 93. Anna Maria was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend who lived a great and full life filled with travel, adventure, and lots of love. She was a passionate gardener, crafter, cook, and extraordinary baker. Her birthday cakes, which she crafted from scratch, were lovingly embellished and absolutely otherworldly to the taste. We all couldn’t wait to have our birthday at Grandma’s. Anna Maria truly had a heart of gold, and though her immediate family was small, she never hesitated to adopt numerous additional children and grandchildren throughout the years. She fed you to the brim with all the delicious meals she was constantly whipping up, told amazing stories of her adventures, and helped with anything she could to ensure you would be happy, healthy, and successful. It’s with deep sorrow we announce her passing after a prolonged battle with dementia, but we find comfort in the fact that heaven has gained another angel. She is survived by her son: Robert Klaritsch, granddaughter: Kassandra Klaritsch, sister: Rita (Schmid) Lorenz, as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband: Thomas Klaritsch, son: Thomas Q. Klaritsch, and daughter-in-law: Teresa (Swiderska) Klaritsch. A burial ceremony will be held on Friday, May 12th at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey, Florida at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon. All are welcome to join. The Klaritsch family would also like to share a final thanks to Madison Pointe Care Center for the wonderful care they were able to provide Anna Maria for the past year and a half. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to Anna Maria's GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses as well as Alheimer's research. Fifty percent of all contributions will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association to help fund the research needed to find a cure.
