Honoring the Life of AC Cruz

We suddenly lost my uncle, AC Cruz, and I have set this page up on behalf of my cousin, and his daughter, Alyssa Chavarrilla.

Saying AC Cruz was larger than life feels like an understatement. As someone who always had something to say, he spent his life talking, working as one of the most recognizable voices in the Tejano music industry. From his beginnings in the Houston area, to taking the Rio Grande Valley by storm, to his recent "Behind the Mic" podcast in San Antonio, AC gave Tejano music fans and listeners unprecedented access to their favorite artists by sharing in conversation with them as he saw them – true friends and family. He had a deep passion for the music and the culture, and was determined to bring that to the world.

Along with the music, AC also showed passion for his family. Always checking in and asking how everyone was doing, he had great pride in everything they did. He would tell you that, no doubt, his greatest achievement was his daughter Alyssa. From the minute she was born, you could see the light she brought to his life. He loved being a grandfather to her children and was extremely proud of the woman she has become.

Although his life was cut short, AC will be remembered for his jokes, his wit, and for living that life his way, by his own rules. We ask that you remember with us and share in the celebration of his life with a donation, prayers, or memories.
