Funeral Expenses for Daniel Sotelo
Donation protected
Daniel Sotelo was reported missing on Saturday, April 30, 2022. After several heartbreaking weeks, his body was identified on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Danny was a wonderful person. He was kind, generous, and extremely intelligent. Daniel’s parents immigrated from Mexico to provide their children with opportunities that they never had. Danny was a first-generation American and was the first in his family to pursue higher education. He was expected to graduate with his Masters in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC) this month. He never got the opportunity to celebrate this accomplishment.
Danny leaves behind his parents, his brother, and his three sisters. His entire family is completely devastated by this loss. His sister, Jennifer Sotelo, shared the following words about Danny: ”Danny was an absolute light for us all. Losing him is like losing the color from our world. As heartbroken as we are, we are so grateful for the light that he provided us for the past 26 years. We hope and pray that his soul rests in peace.”
We understand that we will never be able to fix his family’s heartbreak. However, as Danny’s friends, we want to do everything we can to bring ease to his beautiful family. It is the least we can do for them after the agony they have endured these past several weeks. We cannot begin to imagine the pain and anxiety they must have experienced before Danny was found. We are hopeful that this eases some difficulties in their lives.
All raised funds will be supporting the costs of Daniel’s funeral, memorial service, and any other expenses his family may have at this time. We appreciate any amount that you are able to donate for Daniel. Even if you are unable to donate at this time, please pray for Danny and the Sotelo family.
