Funeral Expenses for Glenn Roach Jr.
Donation protected
My name is Mitzi, Glenn's daughter-in-law, and I created this fundraiser to help his kids, Lil Glenn and Tiffanie, pay for the funeral services. We would love to fulfill his final wishes of being laid to rest at the same cemetery as his parents.
As I am writing this, he is currently still with us but the staff have told us it won't be much longer. He has been understandably scared and anxious through this process as he thought he had more time then this. He is surrounded by his kids and all the prayers of his friends.
You can read about his journey below:
In June of 2023 severe pain sent Glenn to the hospital and tumors were found in his bladder. The doctor did surgery to remove them and sent him on his way with a catheter to help drain his bladder while healing. Fast forward months later and he is still in excruciating pain, urinating mostly blood and the doctor he was seeing refusing to help him because his job fired him (without just cause) and he lost his insurance.
He then went to Parkland due to the pain getting worse and they immediately admitted him for an enlarged prostate and another tumor in his bladder. This is where he was finally diagnosed with bladder cancer that had already spread to the outlying muscle. They set him up with an oncologist to start going over treatment options. Before he could get in to see the doctor, he was removed from the Parkland program for an insurance misunderstanding and was sent on his way, still with a catheter, urinating mostly blood, with no follow up in sight.
Being in and out of the hospital numerous times over the next 7 months for pain and blood in his urine and trying to get insurance straightened out, he kept being treated with antibiotics and pain meds and sent back home.
Finally in Janury he came to stay with his brother and ended up at Tyler hospital where they scanned him and learned that his cancer was now a TERMINAL stage 4 cancer that had metastasized throughout his entire body, including his bones. THIS very aggressive cancer was the reason for the extreme pain. After being in the hospital for a week he choose to forego the pain of treatment and to go on hospice.
Unfortunately after 5 days of being on hospice he took a turn for the worse and had to be admitted into a hospice center where he could recieve IV pain meds under a doctor's care. Cancer that has spread into your bones is one of the most painful things a person can go through.
With this being so sudden the family is not prepared to handle the expenses of a burial. Every little bit helps and if you aren't able to help, we appreciate you sharing and spreading the word.
I want to give a big thanks to Hospice of East Texas for taking such great care of Glenn. They are a non-profit hospice facility that runs solely on donations. Every single staff member here is extremely kind, caring and helpful and have given him the dignity, integrity and peace for his last days. Any extra funds raised, a donation will be made in his name to them.
Thank you so much! I will update this page as things change.
