Funeral expenses for Jerry William Rushing Jr

For those of you that do not know me, my name is Ashley Winebrenner and I am the sister of Jerry William Rushing, Jr. Jerry was so much more than my brother; he was my best friend. He was a giver, a protector, a father, and a friend. Jerry never met a stranger, he would help anyone in need, and was the rock for those he cared about & those that cared for him.

My brother’s death was tragic and unexpected, he leaves behind 5 children and a host of family members and friends that continue to grieve his passing. Fortunately, Jerry ensured that provisions were made for his children however, money for funeral expenses had not been set aside. Because of the legalities of his beneficiaries being minors, his employer META Platforms (aka Facebook) is unable to release the company provided Survivor Benefits designed to be utilized for all related funeral expenses.

Amidst the heartbreaking loss of my brother and, potentially, your family member, friend, employee, and co-worker…I am faced with the financial responsibility of covering his funeral expenses. While my brother is deserving of the beautiful memorial service that was held in his honor, the financial obligation has become a hardship to my family and me.

I ask that you take a moment and remember times that you shared with Jerry… perhaps you shared heartfelt laughter, maybe you shot (and likely lost ) a game of pool with him, he could’ve changed your tire on the side of the road or turned wrenches in your garage…whatever your connection with Jerry was- it was an experience that he valued. Jerry loved people and he loved a good time-I am graciously making a plea for those that made memories with him, to honor his memory by donating towards his last hoorah.

While I have established this page to receive donations directly, I have also contacted Conner Westbury about receiving individual contributions on his account- those can be made by contacting the accounting office or in person at 1891 W McIntosh Rd, Griffin Ga 30223.
