John Oliver Marcum Jr,

72, Passed away Feb.12, 2021 Wichita, KS. He was Born April 07, 1948 to the parents of John Oliver Marcum Sr. and Theodosia Amelia (Penka) Marcum in Great Bend, KS. They lived in Hoisington, KS and then moved to Wichita, KS in 1960. John Jr. attended Bishop Carroll Catholic High School and East High School. When he turned 18, he enlisted in the U.S. ARMY and served 2 tours (22 months) in Vietnam. John Jr. returned home from the war in 1969, He moved to Fort Scott, KS and had 1 daughter and 3 sons. He worked as an Autobody Repairman and he was an Awesome Automotive Painter.

John Jr. moved back to Wichita, KS in the mid 1980’s, he continued his career in the Automotive Repair Industry. He then met and married Isa (Burke) Marcum and had a son. In the early 2000’s he was involved with the Boy Scouts of America. John Jr. loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with the family. He then retired from Wal-Mart.

He is survived by Brothers, Dale E. Marcum (Nancy) of Haysville, KS and Ronald L. Marcum (Melissa) of Wichita, KS Daughter Andrewla (Ann) Marcum of Fort Scott, KS Sons John O. Marcum III (Heather) of Fort Scott, KS Derrick Marcum (Shanti) of Clove, SC Chad Marcum of Fort Scott, KS and Present wife Isa Marcum of Peabody, KS and Son Matthew Marcum of Wichita, KS 6 Grandchildren, and several nieces/nephews.
