Funeral expenses for Larry Byrd of Neptune, NJ

Larry Wayne Byrd died unexpectedly from an asthma attack on Tuesday June 20th 2023. Larry and his wife Carol have been in and out of the hospital for different health problems over the last 2 years, Larry for continued breathing problems and Carol for a stoke and masses found on her neck. The couple’s health complications exacerbated their financial situation and strained what little means the family had. The Byrd’s have endured other hard hitting losses in the last 2 years including Carol’s niece Shannon Coleman (2001-2022) from pregnancy complications and Larry’s sister Brenda Byrd (1966-2022) from COVID-19. Currently, there are no funds available to cremate, or address end of life obligations for Larry. The family is humbly seeking help from their greater community. A break down of costs is below.

Larry Wayne Byrd born to James D. Byrd Sr. and Shirley (Terry) Byrd in Long Branch, NJ on November 11, 1967 and passed away June 20, 2023. He was married to the love of his life Carol (Schindewolf) Byrd and was devoted to her for nearly 35 years. The couple had two children together, Tammy Byrd (24 years old) and Lamar Byrd (17 years old). In his young adult years Larry was a local D.J. and loved sharing his music. Larry was always tinkering with machines and things around the house. He was resourceful and did all that he could to try to meet his family’s needs. Larry was not without his faults, but made up for them with love for all of his family, which meant dishing out petty nicknames, pulling pranks, and making others laugh.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents James and Shirley Byrd, sister Brenda Anne Byrd, niece Shannon Coleman, his grandparents and aunts and uncles. He lives on in the memories of his wife Carol of Neptune, NJ, brothers, James Byrd Jr. of Keyport, NJ and John (Linda) Byrd of Asbury Park, NJ, his children, Lamar Byrd and Tammy Byrd and her 3 children all of Neptune, NJ, four aunts, Rev. Barbara Gibbs and Mary Stovall- Lomans both of NJ, Julia Byrd of Virginia, and Ceceil Majors of Connecticut; five uncles David (Odessa) Byrd of NJ, Wallace Byrd, Robert Byrd, Larry (Louise)Byrd all of Virginia, and Calvin Lee Barksdale of Connecticut and a sister-in-law Linda (Schindewolf) Lingle and brother-in-law William Schindewolf.
