I am Shawayne Washington, and I am reaching out to you during this difficult time to share the heartbreaking story of my son, Artray (Malik) Shanard McCullum. On June 19th, 2016, Artray was tragically shot in the mouth, causing severe damage to the main artery in his neck. As a result, he was left in a vegetative state from June 2016 until January 6th, 2024. Prior to the incident, Artray had called his former friend to arrange a tattoo appointment. Little did he know that this so-called friend would betray him in such a horrific manner. While getting into the car, Artray was shot in the mouth by the driver, forever altering the course of his life. For the past seven years, my son fought tirelessly, missing out on the joys of life due to this tragic incident. However, I am saddened to share that Artray has now found peace, and we are left with the painful task of laying him to rest. During this challenging time, I humbly ask for your help and support. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be immensely appreciated by me and my family. Your generosity will assist us in giving Artray the dignified farewell he deserves.
