Funeral Expenses for Mr. Hudson
My precious friend Mr. Hudson, proud WWII vet, passed away on April 14, 2020. Unfortunately, Mr. Hudson died with very little money, no life insurance or prepaid funeral plans of any kind. He hasn’t had contact with family well in over 20 years and the VA will only cover part of his funeral. I met Mr. Hudson through the senior community he used to live at and have taken on the role of being his “daughter.”
The $4900 needed is what’s due to the funeral home after assistance is given by the VA and the national cemetery. The national cemetery will cover his burial, plot, headstone and a few other miscellaneous charges but I am fundraising to cover preparation of the body, casket and a few other expenses at the funeral home. Unfortunately, the VA does not cover funerals 100%. Anything raised above the $4900 will go to cover some flowers purchased for a memorial service that will take place as soon as the coronavirus isn’t so rampant and we can all meet to remember him. And anything beyond that will be donated to a reputable charity called Homes For Our Troops. Feel free to google that organization if you would like more information. They build and donate specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post 9/11 veterans to enable them to rebuild their lives. I did a lot of research and thought this charity would be well deserving.
I greatly appreciate your love and support for this precious man who has gone on to be with his Lord and Savior. Mr Hudson loved to dance more than anything and I know he is doing just that right now. ♥️
