Funeral Expenses for Our Dearest Lorine
Donation protected
On behalf of the Hoang family, we are deeply broken hearted to announce the loss of our beautiful angel, Lorine Thuy Hoang, to suicide. She was officially declared brain dead on 09/23/2023, and was consequently taken off of life support on 09/24/2023. Lorine was a beautiful girl who will forever be 12 years old. She struggled with depression for a year and sadly lost the battle by taking her own life on September 10th, 2023.
As a family we are devastated and so heartbroken. She was and still is a much loved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, & friend. To those who knew Lorine or had the chance to meet her, know that we are the lucky ones because she will continue to live on through the memories she shared with us. Lorine loved band, her cats, going outside to play, Disneyland & spending time with family and friends. She was such a delight to be around. Lorine could light up a room with her smile and infectious laugh.
She had a zest for life and great love for others that was evident through her actions. From drawing and making crafts such as bracelets, to cooking whole meals, Lorine loved deeply and was always so willing to give her all. These are some of the countless things we already miss about her. She was the life and soul of our family; she was our wild child.
In life and death, Lorine was very loved and we would love to send our baby off in a beautiful way for our beautiful girl. She deserves the best in all lives and in every future form she comes in. In order to give our beautiful Lorine a proper send off, we are reaching out and asking for donations to help fund her funeral. A donation in any amount is greatly appreciated and because we know times are rough, a share is just as valued. Any monetary donation exceeding funeral costs will be put towards her 100th day memorial (a Buddhist tradition). Thank you all for the support during this difficult time. ♥️
Note: Our transparency about Lorine’s suicide is to provide further awareness of the suicide epidemic. Despite Lorine being loved and supported by many, depression got the best of her and unfortunately, this is the case for many. Such a permanent decision often made because of a temporary problem. A decision that can never be taken back, that also has life-long devastating outcomes that ripples across our society.
