Funeral Expenses for Owar

Owar Opiew (Number 1)
Photos supplied by Dorian Studio. After receiving TaTa's blessing today, I am starting this on behalf of Owar's family.
Early this morning, Sunday, February 7, 2021, our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, best friend, class mate, and our world, was taken from us in a senseless act of violence in Spokane Valley. There was a shooting. This shooting took Owar's life.
Sixteen (16) years young. An entire life awaiting him.
First off, everyone knew Owar. This young man's light shone brightly into many corners of Spokane simply because of who he was: there was only one Owar to many of us and he was the kid that knew everybody and everybody knew him. He was both kid brother to some and older brother to others.....and for a select few hundred in Mead, he was just "Owar"..... dear classmate, student, friend, and brother.
But to his parents, extended family, and loved ones, Owar was irreplaceable. The people that knew Owar best have yet to speak out. Their grief is too much for the words to come just yet.
I am asking the families, communities, and business leaders of Mead, Spokane, Spokane Valley, and beyond to join me in assisting this hurting family in their time of greatest need.
The funds raised will specifically cover funeral expenses, lost wages and income, travel expenses for family, and any related expenses stemming from this tragic incident.
The named beneficiary of this fund is Owar's mother, TaTa Oguta and the rest of the Opiew family.
Mead families especially.... you have an opportunity to come along side one of our own and meet a critical urgent need. If there was any connection to the Opiew family through school, sports, play, or work, I respectfully ask for your partnership in lifting this family up during this difficult time. All are invited to help. Darkness cannot be allowed to dampen light. Together we can make a difference for Owar; no parent, no family should have to suffer this grief.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Check at [phone redacted], reference #10015890. ** Neighbors in and around the 900 block of S. Beige are urged to review home video footage and report any suspicious vehicles or activity an hour before midnight (11:00 pm-February 6) and an hour after (1:00 am-February 7).
