Funeral Expenses for Randy Newlin
Donation protected
On March 31, we unexpectedly lost one of the greatest men that many of us have ever come across, our father, and longtime Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy, Randy Newlin.
He was our hero, our biggest fan, and the one person we always knew we could count on. Not only that, but he was a fighter. He beat a cancer that most don’t - pancreatic cancer - and even got to live another 7 years from his original diagnosis. He got to see his son get married and added 4 more grandkids to the 3 he already had. Our Dad was the most selfless person you could ever meet and always put the needs of our family above his own. He was tough, but that came with the territory of being an almost 40 year sheriff’s deputy. He was a shoulder we could always lean on and someone We could go to go for anything. Our Dad would literally give the shirt of his back for anyone that needed it and always made sure we never wanted for anything.
But now, due to many of the unforeseen circumstances with the COVID pandemic we are unable to recognize our Dad like the hero he is and was. We also discovered that he didn’t realize his life-insurance policy had lapsed during his long time illness, resulting in a lot of unexpected and unforeseen expenses for our mom, Christy. As a result, donations are requested to assist with funeral and all of the other unexpected expenses that are popping up.
We are planning on having a memorial service this summer, where he will be honored by family and friends, fellow police officers, and anyone else that would like to come. That way he can truly be recognized for the wonderful, caring, funny and one with the best looking cop-stache we've ever seen. The way he truly deserves.
Our Dad was always there for us and for anyone that needed, even if he didn’t know then. He fought pancreatic cancer and MS at the same time, and won. He was a loving husband, father, and papa. But now, it’s our turn to be there for him.
We thank you all for your kind words and condolences and look forward to sending our Dad out with a bang this summer!
