Funeral Expenses for Renee Campana (AskMysticRose)
My mother, Renee Campana (known to others as Renee Rose or AskMysticRose), passed away from natural causes this past weekend. We believe it happened Sunday night (April 18th, 2021) but as of this moment, the medical examiner's office of Maricopa County has not determined an official time or cause of death. They are waiting for final lab results before providing any more information to next of kin.
She did not have life insurance or anything setup for funeral arrangements prior to her passing and her unexpected death has been a shock to her entire family.
Over the years, she had told me on several occasions that she did not want to be cremated as she was not comfortable with the use of fire in the process. Our current plan is to seek out an aquamation (alkaline hydrolysis) which is a greener alternative to cremation that utilizes no fire to take care of the entire process.
As aquamation has only been recently legalized in roughly 20 states in the US, it is not as widely available as standard cremation services. This means that the family will have to pay a funeral home here in Arizona to retrieve her body from the Medical Examiner's office and prepare her for transport to a city where she will be received by a second funeral home that will provide the aquamation services. Once we have received the ashes, we intend to add them to the plot where her son, Augie Campana, lies in Hudson, Ohio.
Renee was a beautiful ray of positivity and hope in every life she shined her light upon. She was always the person to support and raise people up with a smile that would light up the room. Even if she didn't know them. No matter what you were going through, she'd be there for you. That's just who she was. No matter how unstable the ground under her own feet would be, she was always more concerned with helping others first, especially her children.
Renee is survived by her two sons, Dominic and Dante, who love and miss her terribly already and hope that she has been reunited with her loving son Augie in heaven. All funds from this campaign will go directly to offsetting costs from:
- First funeral home fees (Receiving her body in Arizona, Transporting her to the second funeral home in Ohio via plane)
- Second funeral home fees (Receiving her body in Ohio, Providing Aquamation/Alkaline Hydrolysis services, Fees for adding all/most of her ashes to her son's)
- Fees incurred while moving her stuff out of her old apartment and storage unit
- Any remaining funds from there will likely be used for a memorial event (COVID willing, potentially digital depending on circumstances)
